The Wasabi incident … dun, dun, da
So we decided to meet some friends for sushi last night. We have gone for sushi with the kids multiple times … in fact both our son and daughter will ask “Can we have sushi tonight” … sushi wins out over pizza so our kids are truly west coasters.
Anyway, apart from the regular trials of eating in a restaurant with two toddlers, everything was going well. We ordered our rolls and when the boats arrived, I divvied up some sushi for both kids. Little did I know, our son must have grabbed the ball of wasabi and mistook it for avocado.
Now our son eats anything and everything and this we know is a good thing for any 18 month old … me thinks he wasn’t a huge fan of the straight up green stuff though. I’m pretty sure the entire restaurant also knew how much he wasn’t enjoying his “green tea ice-cream with a kick”.
Poor guy … so far there haven’t been any adverse effects … phew!
Today is a down day for me and I’m just catching up on household chores, minding the kids and getting ready for our family vaca to the cottage.
I will get crackin on RK’s for 3 days next week before a bit of a hiatus until early August. I can’t really afford the time away but a family break is much needed.
